Vadodara: A married woman residing in a society in the Chhani Road has alleged that she was raped by a man who was insisting on having a relationship with her. The man allegedly took her to Uttar Pradesh (UP) and then deserted her.

The woman, who operated a tea stall in the Karelibaug area of the city, has alleged that the accused Vijay Yadav used to frequent her tea stall. She has alleged that he befriended her and took her phone number. The woman has claimed that Yadav used to call her frequently and insisted that she enter into a relationship with him. She stated that she denied this as she was married and had three children.

The woman has claimed that she kept denying this and once while Yadav had called her, her husband came home and she disconnected the call. Her husband took the phone from her and called Yadav, but he did not receive the call. The husband became furious and beat the woman up and forced her to leave their home.

The woman sought Yadav’s help, but he insisted that he would do so later and took the woman with him to a flat under construction in Sayajipura. He allegedly raped the woman there and then took her to Waghodiya the next day. They then left for UP and Yadav promised to keep the woman with him.

The woman alleged that after reaching UP, Yadav said that he would not keep her and asked her to return. On reaching the city, the woman called her husband and then registered an offence against Yadav.
