Cape Town - The Springbok Sevens side gained a small manner of revenge as they swept aside Chile 43-0 in their opening game of the Vancouver Sevens on Saturday.
The Blitzboks were shocked last week when the South American side held them to a 5-all draw in Las Vegas and while they didn’t lose the game, it set the tone for an inconsistent performance that led them to tied seventh place, way below their normal par.
But on Saturday the Blitzboks were in less forgiving form.
They started off with a blistering try - the first of a brace by the hard-running JC Pretorius and never looked back.
Both Shakes Soyizwapi and Selvyn Davids also crossed the tryline twice as the Blitzboks surged ahead, with Muller du Plessis scoring the final telling try.
The Blitzboks will next face Wales at 00:52 on Sunday and then World Series leaders the USA at 04:46.
