Disgusted by attack on Kashmiri traders: Rahul

A day after a video went viral of two being thrashed by saffron-robed youths in Lucknow, on Friday said he was "disgusted" by the violence and said belonged to all citizens from every corner of the country.

Gandhi also expressed admiration for the passer-by who intervened and called the police.

"While I'm disgusted by this video of Kashmiri traders being attacked in Uttar Pradesh, I salute the braveheart who challenged the attackers. belongs to its citizens, from every corner of our nation. I strongly condemn all acts of violence against our Kashmiri brothers and sisters," Gandhi said in a tweet.

The attack took place on Wednesday when a group of youths pounced on the two Kashmiri men who were selling dry fruits at in Four men of a rightwing fringe outfit, Vishwa Hindu Dal (VHD), were arrested on Thursday.

The attackers called the victims "stone pelters" and asked them to produce their Aadhaar cards. The obliged but the attackers continued to beat them.
