Arrivals and spot prices of turmeric at the markets in Erode increased today. Arrivals increased to 7,700 bags; of these 6,000 are new turmeric.
New finger turmeric gained by ₹200 a quintal , while the root variety fetched a lower price. At the Regulated Marketing Committee, finger turmeric was up by ₹400 and the root variety by ₹100 a quintal. About 65 per cent of the stock was sold.
