Rajasthan man among 2 held with opium

Ludhiana: The CIA-I arrested two men with 2 kg of opium from near Khanpur village of Dehlon area on Wednesday evening.
The accused were identified as Jagroop Singh of Khanpur and Satya Narayan of Shivpura village of Rajasthan. According to police, Jagroop used to procure opium from Satya Narayan and further sold the same among his customers in Ludhiana.

Assistant commissioner of police (crime) Anil Kumar Kohli said Jagroop met Satya Narayan in Rajasthan last year when he was on the way to Hazoor Sahib. Jagroop stayed in a hotel in Rajasthan where Satya Narayan used to sell milk.


Jagroop, addicted to opium himself, initially got 250g opium from Narayan.


This was the second time when Jagroop was getting the contraband from Satya Narayan, added the ACP.


The official said Jagroop is already facing trial in an NDPS case in Barnala.
