New Delhi, A BJP delegation met Election Commission officials on Friday and submitted a memorandum alleging that the Chandrababu Naidu government in Andhra Pradesh was involved in electoral data theft and had ‘subverted” all the government processes to gain an undue advantage over political rivals.

‘We are submitting widespread concerns of voters and political parties in Andhra Pradesh and seek your earnest response to allay our and peopl’s concerns,’ the party stated in the memorandum.

With the active connivance of people in high positions in the Andhra Pradesh government, confidential and secure data of states’ voters and residents have been leaked to the ruling TDP in the state, the saffron party said.

‘This large scale theft has not only put the people of Andhra Pradesh at a great risk and has given undue advantage to the ruling party which had gained illegitimate access to data like Aadhaar numbers and linked bank accounts, photographs of all voters from the master voter database of Election Commission, social mapping and political preferences of voters obtained through government sponsored surveys”.

The BJP urged the poll panel that ‘corrective steps’ must be taken to nullify the undue advantage taken by the ruling party. ‘Appropriate action should be taken against the TDP as per law for attempting to vitiate the electoral process,’ the BJP stated.
