Charlotte Russe is Closing All of its Stores, But is That the End of the Women's Fashion Chain?

Following 2019’s trend of closures paved by so many legacy brands, Charlotte Russe is now grappling with an uncertain future, as the former mall staple looks for a sale of its intellectual property while closing the remainder of its stores.????But the company, remains hopeful for its future telling USA Today, “...we remain in ongoing negotiations to sell the (intellectual property) to a buyer who has expressed interest in a continued brick and mortar presence.”????The company’s online store has already closed amid a partnership with SB360 Capital to liquidate the remainder of its 416 stores.????Founded in 1975, the San Diego-based women’s clothing chain employed more than 8,700 employees.

????Amid declining foot traffic in malls and growth in online shopping, 2019 has already seen Payless ShoeSource announce the closure of all of its nearly 2,600 stores, Victoria’s Secret closing 53 locations, Gymboree shuttering its 749 locations, and these are just some of many.
