Joice George, MP, failed to submit documents of the land he and his family owned at Kottakambur, part of the proposed Neelakurinji Sanctuary, on Thursday.
Devikulam Subcollector Renu Raj on February 28 issued a notice to Mr. George to personally submit the land documents before March 7.
Sources in the Revenue Department said lawyers representing Mr. George approached the Subcollector’s office but did not submit any document.
In December, Mr. George was issued a notice to submit the documents on January 10. However, he approached the High Court and sought a month’s time to submit the documents of 20 acres obtained allegedly using power of attorney.
Title deed cancelled
The then Subcollector V.R. Premkumar on November 10 last year cancelled the title deed of the land after Mr. George was served a notice to submit the documents. Mr. George then approached the District Collector, who did not order cancellation of the Subcollector’s order but asked for a review of the entire process.
