Print ad volumes up by 8% since 2014: AdEx India report

Coaching/ Competitive Exam Centres and Two Wheelers are the categories that clocked the most growth.

Ad volumes in the print medium witnessed an 8 per cent growth compared to those of 2014, suggests data provided by AdEx India, a division of TAM Media Research.

The top ten sectors that advertised in print include services, education, auto, retail banking/ finance/ investment, personal healthcare, personal accessories, durables, personal care/ personal hygiene and, food and beverages.

Sectors like personal care/ personal hygiene, food and beverages, services, auto, and personal accessories were also present across TV, radio and print.

Among the top five advertisers in the categories of 2018, Cars/Jeeps registered 17 per cent of ad volume growth compared to year 2014. Coaching/ Competitive Exam Centres grew by 39 per cent and Two Wheelers showed 98 per cent growth. Properties/ Real Estate saw a drop in ad volume from 2014. A drop of 3 per cent was observed in ad volumes of Hospitals/ Clinics in 2018 compared to 2014 and a 6 per cent drop compared to 2016.
