Brisbane priest guilty of historical abuse

A Catholic priest has been found guilty of indecently dealing with a schoolboy while he was a teacher at Brisbane's Villanova College.

Michael Ambrose Endicott, 75, was convicted of three counts of indecently dealing with a child in the 1970s and 1980s after a five-day trial in Brisbane District Court.

But the jury acquitted him of five counts of the same charge.

His trial had heard Endicott was in charge of pastoral care and religious education at Villanova College during the 1970s.

The alleged victim said Endicott's abuse of him began on a school hiking trip in 1975.
