A Westport man was arrested on Thursday night after police say he brought stolen items to a Fall River pawn shop.

The incident was part of an ongoing investigation at the Wesport Police Department. Sometime during the past two weeks, several thousand dollars in fishing rods and reels, along with thousands of dollars in construction tools, were stolen from an Amory Pettey Road address.

Earlier on Thursday, investigators discovered that several stolen items had been taken to a Fall River pawn shop.

Wesport Detective Robert Rebello, along with the Fall River Police Major Crimes Division, executed a search warrant to search for additional stolen items at the Westport address.

Tobias Araujo, of 138 Briggs Road, a suspect in the investigation, was located at Briggs Road while the warrant was being executed. He spoke with investigators and other stolen items were located inside the residence.

During the search, investigators found identification cards and membership patches from the Fall River Sidewinders Outlaw Motorcycle Club.

Araujo was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card and possession of a dangerous weapon.

He also identified a second individual in connection to the case. The incident remains under investigation.
