Motorists want protruding manhole in Srinivasapuram fixed

Motorists frequenting Srinivasapuram Main Road in Srinivasapuram, off East Coast Road, have requested the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) and Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) to attend to a problem that can be solved only through a joint action by these two government agencies.

The want a protruding manhole to be brought on the same level as the road.

To avoid hitting the protruding manhole, many motorists swerve left and right, throwing those coming behind them, and others travelling in the opposite direction in a spot of trouble.

Pedestrians are also affected by this.

The road is narrow, as vehicles are often parked on both sides of it. So, pedestrians have to walk in the carriageway, an motorists swerve around the manhole, there is the likelihood of the former being knocked down.

The stretch provides access to six educational institutions in Srinivasapuram and Kottivakkam.

A CMWSSB official has promised to do the needful at the earliest.
