Roca India, a fully-owned subsidiary of Spanish sanitary products maker Roca, inaugurated its sixth display studio in the country — and the first one in Tamil Nadu — here on Friday.
Spread across 5,000 sq ft, the three-storeyed Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design ( LEED)-certified studio presents a one-stop solution for all bathroom needs with a wide array of bath products, such as faucets, bathtubs, basins and showers under its leading brands such as Laufen, Roca and Parryware.
“We are excited to launch our first display studio in Chennai today. It is one of our most successful markets with over 400 Parryware outlets in the city,” said KE Ranganathan, MD, Roca Bathroom Products Private Ltd.
Roca India, which also has display studios in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kochi, Lucknow, and Chandigarh, will soon open studios in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, and plans to add 2-3 display studios annually over the next three years. “We have witnessed a sharp increase in sales in all the locations where we have opened a studio, and we are optimistic about Tamil Nadu as one of our focus markets,” Ranganathan said.
Plans for growth
The Indian subsidiary, which currently accounts for 10 per cent of the Roca group’s global business of €1.8 billion, is planning to enhance its contribution to 15 per cent over the years.
“We are committed to continue our upward growth trajectory in India by launching many such display studios and investing in manufacturing facilities to increase the exports in terms of volume,” said Raimundo Garcia-Figueras, Senior Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Roca.
Roca, which is currently at the No. 2 spot in the faucets market in the country, is looking to acquire faucets manufacturing plants in North India to meet the increasing demand. “We are enhancing the capacity of our Bhiwadi plant to produce 175,000 faucets per month from 150,000 and also looking to acquire existing manufacturing plants in North India,” Ranganathan said.
