NOIDA: A Chijjarsi resident was arrested from near NH-24 opposite Sector 62 on Thursday in the abduction and murder case of an 11-year-old boy.
Police said that Mansoor Alam (26) killed the boy, Farmaan, with a razor..

Farmaan went missing from Chijjarsi in Sector 63 on February 24 and his half-decomposed body was found in a drain in Kala Pathar area of Indirapuram two days later.

His father Iliyaas said that while the child went missing on the night of February 24, he approached the police chowki on February 25 and then the next day, asking them to look for Farmaan.

The family has alleged negligence on the part of Phase III police, saying that they delayed action and asked them to search for the boy themselves. The SSP has initiated an inquiry into the matter.

Farmaan’s body was found on February 26 evening while his family members learnt about it on March 1 when they went to Indirapuram police station and was asked to identify the body.

Police said that Mansoor killed the boy because he was in love with his elder sister, who did not reciprocate it.

Phase III SHO Akhilesh Tripathi said, “He has claimed that he loved Farmaan’s elder sister, who was unaware about his feelings and did not reciprocate them. Mansoor would spend money to please the boy. Farmaan would occasionally spend time in his house. He even told Mansoor that his sister loved him but that was not true. So, Mansoor started feeling cheated.”
