A scorned doctor allegedly sent thousands of text messages to her ex Tinder flame after he described her as a 'starfish' in the bedroom and tried to end the relationship.

Sydney-based radiologist Denise Lee is alleged to have embarked on an eight-month stalking campaign against Matthew Holberton after they briefly hooked up in September, 2015.

The relationship turned sour after Mr Holberton replied to a text allegedly sent by Dr Lee asking if she 'wore him out' by comparing her to a 'starfish', prosecutors allege.

The 40-year-old doctor allegedly called her former lover a 'jackrabbit' and accused him of being a 'f**k and run' in another text.

'You think it's ok to sleep with a girl once, then tell her to piss off over text … I shouldn't be treated like this … I'm not going to take this lying down,' she is alleged to have written on September 24.

'We tried but we don't have enough chemistry… the reason I don't want to see you now is because of the way you've spoken to me,' Mr Holberton said.

'Haven't you ever heard of buyer's remorse? I didn't ever plan on a f**k and run… I know it looks like that. Have you seen how many text messages you've written? It's a bit "psycho".'

The alleged harassment campaign extended beyond Mr Holberton, with Dr Lee accused of tormenting his family and friends.

Dr Lee allegedly managed to learn Mr Holberton's family member's names, and had contacted his new girlfriend on occasion, according to the evidence tendered to court.

The Downing Centre Local Court heard some victims had contemplated suicide.

She has been charged with six counts of using a carriage service to menace and harass, two counts of contravening a domestic apprehended violence order and two counts of stalking/intimidation with intent to cause physical harm.

Dr Lee is fighting all the charges and her hearing will continue later in the month.
