Chandigarh: 26-year-old biker dies trying to avoid stray cow

CHANDIGARH: A 26-year-old biker lost his life while trying to avoid hitting a stray cow at Dadumajra light-point on Wednesday night.
Vinod Kumar, who worked at a fuel station in Sector 21, was on way home from his workplace when suddenly a cow came in front of his bike. "His bike swayed as he tried not to run into the animal. Soon, he lost control over the vehicle and it hit an electricity pole. He fell on the road and received serious head injuries," said an eyewitnesses.
SHO Malkit Singh said an onlooker called up the police, who took Vinod - a resident of Dadumajra - to PGIMER. But he succumbed during treatment. A case has been registered.
