Man charged over alleged role in murder of Sydney man Jamie Phillips

A man has been arrested over his alleged role in the death of a man in Sydney's south-west last year.

About 1pm on October 25, officers were called to Englorie Park Drive in Rosemeadow after the body of Jamie Phillips, 46, was found in a vacant lot.

Following inquiries, police searched a home at St Helens Park about 11.30am on Thursday.

A 37-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where he was charged with murder.

The man was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Friday.

Police will allege in court that Mr Phillips was stabbed at a home at Rosemeadow and his body was later dumped at a vacant lot.

In January, Detective Inspector Greg Inger appealed to the public for information into Mr Phillips' death. "Jamie suffered multiple serious injuries and we believe that more than one offender was involved," he said at the time.

Investigations are continuing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
