Nagpur: Women have stamped their authority in every field by dint of will power and ability to handle various issues sensibly, said Amruta Fadnavis, social activist and wife of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, on Friday.
Fadnavis made these observations while interacting with women entrepreneurs during a courtesy visit to TOI office. A three-day ‘The She Fest’ has been organized in association with TOI from Saturday which will give entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their talent.
Jyoti Kapoor, Monika Bhagwaghar, Parveen Tuli and Nita Singh have come forward for the venture.
Fadnavis said that though women have crossed the boundary of home to prove themselves in the world, they have not lost connect with the family. Women are emotionally attached in dealing with various situations as they use their brain and heart while taking a decision, she said. There are times when women have an edge over men in many fields, she said.
She said that women have proved their capability while taking decisions on investment by striking a balance between income and savings. Women are at the forefront of repaying loans, a rare quality, which proves their honesty, she said.
Fadnavis suggested that women entering the field of entrepreneurship should make effective use of social media to further their cause. There could be hurdles from men in trade and business, but time has come women take an initiative to end such a dominance, she said.
Fest opens today
The three-day ‘The She Fest’ will be inaugurated by mayor Nanda Jichkar at Press Club, Civil Lines, at 5.30pm on Saturday. The festival will have stalls like fashion, lifestyle and kids food zone. Zumba for women, felicitation of entrepreneurs, cooking and make-up workshops will be added attractions of the event.
