NEW DELHI: A MiG-21 Bison crashed near Bikaner in Rajasthan on Friday, soon after taking off from the Nal airbase for a routine sortie. The pilot ejected safely. This was the seventh crash suffered by the IAF this year, in which nine of its personnel have been killed.

“Initial inputs indicate the likely cause of accident was a bird hit. A court of inquiry has been ordered,” an IAF officer said.
