Luxury vehicles on this list are few and far between, but the Lincoln Navigator makes the cut with 2.2 percent of models hitting the 200,000-mile mark. The Navigator nameplate has been a staple for Lincoln since its debut in 1998 – and the latest iteration is one of the brand's best yet.

The longest-lasting pickup on this list is the Honda Ridgeline. The now 13-year-old truck spans two generations and two build styles: both body-on-frame and unibody. With 3.0 percent of models making it to 200,000 miles, the Ridgeline comes in at eighth.

At 27 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway, it was the most efficient version of the Highlander to date. Like a lot of cars on this list, the Toyota 4Runner hasn't changed much since the current generation's debut in 2009. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it; the 4Runner is fifth on this list, with 3.9 percent of models reaching 200,000 miles. In terms of sales, the body-on-frame SUV's numbers haven't decreased since 2011. Last year Toyota sold more than 139,000 4Runners in the U.S.

Like the Tahoe and another General Motors SUV you'll see later on this list, the GMC Yukon XL makes the cut with 4.0 percent of models reaching 200,000 miles. It's one of seven American vehicles on this list and bests SUV rivals from Toyota, Honda, and others. The current Yukon has been around since 2015.

The Chevrolet Suburban is the second highest American SUV on the list (tied with an SUV from the Blue Oval). And because it shares its platform and most of its components with the smaller Tahoe (ranked sixth), it's an expected front-runner with 5.0 percent of examples reaching 200,000 miles. The current model has been on the market since 2014 and offers two engine options: a 5.3-liter V8 and a larger 6.2-liter V8.

The Ford Expedition ties the Chevrolet Suburban at number two, with 5.0 of examples reaching 200,000 miles. The Expedition has been around since 1997, but received an overhaul for the 2018 model year. The update added a new platform, a new look, and a new turbocharged V6 engine.

Believe it or not, the Toyota Sequoia tops the list with 7.4 percent of examples hitting 200,000 miles in their lifetime. The truck-based SUV, though it may not be a huge seller for Toyota, is reliable, capable of carrying up to eight passengers, and joins the TRD Pro lineup for 2019 with more off-road goodies.
