VADODARA: Students of city-based Parul University (PU) got a musical treat on Wednesday last during the 8th international jazz festival that was organised by PU in association with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
A six member group from South Korea known as the ‘Go Back Project’ staged the performance which was a combination of Korean traditional music with jazz.
Made by pianist and composer Chae Ji Hye in 2017, the ‘Geo-Koo-Ro’ project is a Korean pop jazz group that plays the Korean traditional music with jazz with the motto of “finding today’s solution from the past’ – meaning ‘Geo-Koo-Ro’ in Korean.
After its performance at the open air theatre at Gujarat University, PU was the second and the last campus in Gujarat where the South Korean artists staged their performance. Earlier, a delegation from South Korea had staged a dance performance at PU which too was held in collaboration with ICCR.
