TNN | Mar 9, 2019, 04:28 ISTUdhagamandalam: ‘Her- Art’, an exhibition showcasing 31 paintings by 21 women artists was inaugurated at Gallery OneTwo here on Friday.
“The show provides a feast that will churn the aesthetic senses of all the viewers and take them through an awakening artistic journey,” said curator Shoba Premkumar.
Works of artists from Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are on display.
It is encouraging to display works in the hill town thronged by lakhs of tourists, said 19-year-old A Dharshini from Coimbatore, the youngest artist to display her work. As a self-taught artist, she had entered the Asia Book of Records for creating a 58ft*36ft painting.
For Wilma Jayakumar, an art teacher from Ooty, it was her first public exhibition.
Artist sisters Sasikala and Umamaheswari said that the exhibition provided a good opening for them.
The free event will conclude on March 31.
