CBSE class 12th Chemistry paper 2019: Topic-wise important tips

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Class 12 Chemistry examination for Science stream students on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. As there are only a few days left for preparation of Chemistry paper, here are few last minute tips that may enhance your scores in the exam.

Chemistry exam topic-wise important topics

Physical Chemistry: The students who have focused on their NCERT textbook thoroughly in the last one year, need to revise important topics and solve questions given in the book. Write down important formulae on a chart paper and past it over to your study room so that you can revise it daily.


Organic Chemistry: This is a scoring section for students who have done a systematic revision. Common questions asked in this section are - Reason based, Conversions or Word Problem, Name Reactions, Distinction Test and Mechanism of reaction etc. From now on, try to solve as many questions as possible on a daily basis to be exam ready. Pay attention to chapters like Polymers, Bio-molecular and Chemistry in everyday life.

Inorganic Chemistry: Most of the question from this section are based on - Reasoning, Structure, and Complete the reaction format.

p-block elements: Write all important reactions on a paper and revise them every day. Solving the reactions will help you develop the flow of writing and speed up your timings.

d- and f- block elements: Revise and practice structure and properties of compounds such as KMnO4 and K2Cr2O7. Solve as many questions as possible every day.


Coordination Compound: This chapter is very important and questions are asked in different formats. Give ample time to revise this chapter.


Metallurgy: This chapter is also important and hence you should practice a variety of questions from this chapter to be ready to answer all questions asked in the Chemistry exam paper on March 12.


Previous year and mock question papers

Lastly, is it very important to solve questions from previous year examinations and mock test papers. You should practice and solve these questions in a time-based manner to develop exam temperament, flow, and speed.
