IT Grids CEO moves Telangana High Court in data theft case

IT Grids, the firm providing IT services to Andhra Pradesh's ruling and is being currently probed by police for alleged data theft, on Friday moved High Court with a plea to quash the case against it.

Even as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is on the lookout for D. Ashok, he filed the quash petition. Denying allegations of data theft, he pleaded for dismissing the case.

Alleging that the case was fabricated, Ashok sought a stay on all proceedings as an immediate relief. The petition may come up for hearing on Saturday or Monday.

Lokeswara Reddy that sensitive data, including personal information of citizens of Andhra Pradesh, was being processed illegally by the company without consent of the citizens. The data was allegedly used by the company for an app developed by it for TDP cadres.

The government on Wednesday constituted the SIT for thorough investigations into the case.

The police case and subsequent developments triggered a row between the Telugu states with alleging that TDP's data was stolen under a conspiracy by Telangana's ruling party and YSR party.

In a tit-for-tat, government on Thursday set up SIT to probe data theft case against Telangana.
