$9 Million Divo Build Slot A Bargain Compared To Bugatti’s $18.9 Million One-Off

While Bugatti was busy introducing the one-off, Chiron-based La Voiture Noire, some of its customers were looking to make a quick buck off the second most expensive machine made in Molsheim: the Divo.

The ad posted on Mobile claims to be selling a Bugatti Divo. Well, actually not a real car but rather a build slot. And they’ll do it in exchange for €7,913,500, tax included, or just shy of $9 million at today’s exchange rates.

The official starting price of the Divo was in the region of €5 million ($5.6 million). So, if this one ends up changing hands for the aforementioned sum, then it would turn a ~€3 million ($3.4 million) profit for the vendor, who claims to be taking delivery of the black-finished hypercar with an Alcantara interior on December 28, 2019.

On a more positive note, the German used car dealership is legit, so there should be no doubts about the veracity of the ad. Still, anyone lucky enough to afford blowing this much on a car should carefully read the papers before making any transactions, preferably in the presence of a lawyer.

Limited to only 40 units, the Bugatti Divo is basically a coachbuilt Chiron with a more aerodynamic body and the same 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbo engine pumping out 1,500 PS (1,479 hp / 1,103 kW) and 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) of torque. Unlike the Chiron, which can go up to 420 km/h (261 mph), the Divo is limited to 380 km/h (236 mph).
