LUCKNOW: Giving a twist to BJP's poll slogan "Mera booth sabse mazboot" (my polling booth is strongest) for Lok Sabha polls, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Thursday that it should be "jhoot and boot" (lies and boot) for the BJP instead of youth and booth.

"First, there were parallel negotiations and then the (Rafale) files got stolen. In Sant Kabir Nagar, an (BJP) MP used shoes to settle his dispute with a party MLA during a meeting to discuss development issues," Akhilesh said.

The two developments have left the BJP cadres confused on what to latch on to: 'jhoot and boot' or 'youth and booth," Akhilesh said.

He accused PM Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath of using a language that was aggressive and prompting the cadres to react in a violent way.

"Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi says g har me ghus kar marenge and CM has a 'thoko niti' .... Use of such language by people in high offices does not sent out a good message among the youth and those who look up to their leaders. The result is that those who catch hold of a firearm and bullets do not think twice before killing a cop and people resort to assaulting Kashmiris for no rhyme and reason," the SP chief said.
