Principal Secretary (Energy) Ajay Jain on Thursday asked officials of the Eastern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited (APEPDCL) to ensure uninterrupted and quality power supply to the consumers during the summer.
Mr. Jain, who held a review meeting with the discom Chairman and Managing Director K. Rajabapaiah and other senior officials here, said all farm connections will be provided with uninterrupted power supply for nine hours free of cost.
“The APEPDCL has achieved 100% electrification. some villages in the Agency areas have been electrified with solar power under the DDG (decentralised distribution generation) scheme. Now, it is necessary to connect the solar related services to the grid,” Mr. Jain said and instructed the officials to release all the pending agricultural connections immediately.
Mr. Jain asked the officials to examine the work of BLDC (brushless dc) pump-sets and initiate measures so that those will be adopted in other circles. The officials were also told to replace ordinary cement poles with spun poles in the coastal areas and complete the underground cable work without delay.
Charging stations
Referring to the electric cars, Mr. Jain said the APEPDCL had set up charging stations at various places. APEPDCL Directors B. Seshu Kumar, T.V.S. Chandrasekhar and others were present in the meeting.
