Karan Johar's 'Kalank' will see Alia Bhatt and Madhuri Dixit share screen space for the very first time and if that wasn't exciting enough we hear that Madhuri will essay the role of Alia's mentor in the film.
Last year around May a few pictures of Madhuri sporting the look of a courtesan had went viral on the internet. It was later reported that Madhuri will be playing the role of a brothel head in the film.
"Madhuri, who is known for her dancing skills, will be seen playing mentor to Bhatt and (Kiara) Advani's character. In fact, Advani is only making a cameo appearance in a special song. Madhuri is undergoing rigorous preparation for the role," a source had earlier told Mid-Day.
While it still remains to be seen whether Dixit and Bhatt will share the dance floor in the film or not, the two will definitely have their solo performances.
On the special occassion of International Women's Day today, Harper's Bazaar posted some interesting behind-the-scene videos from their 10th anniversary cover photoshoot and they have 'Kalank' ladies Alia, Madhuri and Sonakshi Sinha sharing some tidbits on the film.
In one video, Madhuri is seen talking about Alia's classical dance number in the film. She is heard saying: "I have seen her (Alia) dancing in the movie which was brilliant. I really loved it. I loved her spirit. It was a semi-classical kind of a number. I was like 'Hmm. How is she going to do this.' But, she did!"

Alia's reaction to this was even more priceless. The actress was clearly left speechless.
In the same interview, Alia revealed that it was a dream come true moment for her to work with Madhuri.
"We all play very different characters in the film, and share a dynamic relationship. I definitely had to pinch myself a couple of times while filming with Madhuri ma'am, especially during the few scenes in which we had to dance. Sometimes I would zone out a little bit and just stare her because she's so lovely," she told Harper's Bazaar India.
Directed by Abhishek Varman, 'Kalank' is set to hit the screens on April 9.
