Man arrested in Chennai for possessing banned drug, ecstasy tablets

CHENNAI: Sleuths of the Narcotics Intelligence Bureau CID arrested a 27-year-old man here on Friday for possessing a banned drug and ecstasy tablets.
Acting on a tip-off, police nabbed Kartik Anand of Alandur, who was found roaming suspiciously in the city. He was carrying 830mg of LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide stamps) and 13.190gram of MDMA ecstasy tablets worth Rs 3 lakh.
The police registered a case and arrested Anand.
Anand told the police that he had procured the LSD stamps and ecstasy tablets through a courier. He wanted to sell them to techies.
The police seized his cellphone and were investigating.
