Former Director General of Police (Maharashtra) D.D. Padsalgikar was appointed Deputy Lokayukta of the State on Wednesday. The Governor’s office confirmed the appointment of Mr. Padsalgikar, who was recommended by the State government for the post last week.
A 1982-batch Indian Police Service officer, Mr. Padsalgikar, in his police career, has served two stints with the Intelligence Bureau and a three-year deputation to Washington, United States before being appointed as Mumbai Police Commissioner in 2016 and subsequently the State DGP in 2018.
