"As per the order ID-2019/1326 dated March 5, 2019, of the district food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs controller (DFSC), it is recommended to register an FIR against Gurjit Singh, former depot license holder village Naneola. Gurjit cheating with the department as he has not distributed 229 quintals 91 kilogram wheat, 560kg Sugar, and 84 litres of Mustard Oil (MO) to some beneficiaries holding the ration cards. A scam worth Rs 5,73,400 has been detected in the public distribution system. DFSC Nishant Rathee said, "The inspection of the concerned depot license holder has been carried after a complaint through CM Window reached us, and accordingly his license was cancelled on December 26, 2018. Gurjeet was given numerous calls for personal hearing and two reminders were also issued for the recovery, but he did not appear. Therefore, on March 5, I had written for registration of an FIR against Gurjeet as he has not handed over the ration mentioned in the complaint to the department and neither has he distributed it among the beneficiaries."
"On Thursday, a case has been registered and we would obtain all the records to further investigate the matter and take relevant action as per law," Naggal SHO sub-inspector Jagdish said.
