Varun Kalia, chief executing officer, CBA said, "The name of the gate has been decided with a consensus of the members of the board during a meeting held in the recent past. The members suggested that the gate should be named after WC Abhinandan so the youths of the area feel motivated and also we have a large presence of Air Force in Ambala Cantonment. This gate is a part of our Non-Motorised Transport (NMT) Corridor which is being developed on the Mall road of the Cantonment."

It is a huge achievement that how Abhinandan has destroyed an F-16 with a MiG and the entire nation is saluting him, therefore, this gate has been dedicated to him."
Moreover, Vij said, "NMT corridor is being developed here in which residents can do cycling, running and walking. A lake is also being constructed to beautify the cantonment, systems of rainwater harvesting, sitting arrangements and plantations are being installed and overall after the completion of the project it would add to the beautification of this cantonment."
