BOSTON - Teen-aged winners of the Safe Jobs for Youth Poster Contest will be recognized for their creative and powerful posters designed to increase awareness of occupational safety among young workers at a State House ceremony. Ethan Dollarhide, 16 and Hannah Chace, 17 both from Fall River, and students at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, have been chosen as a top 10 finalist, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners being revealed at an official ceremony on Thursday, March 14, at 2 p.m. at the Massachusetts State House.

Over 200 students from across the state, ages 14 to 19, participated in the contest, which was co-hosted by the state’s Youth Employment and Safety Team and the Massachusetts Coalition for Occupational Safety & Health. Sixty-one students served as judges. The top three winners will each take home a cash prize provided by Commonwealth Corporation. The winning first place poster will be posted to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health website, disseminated to schools and youth organizations, and displayed on MBTA subway cars and buses.
