Honda Civic 2019 Launched At Rs 17,69,900 In India
Honda Car India today introduced the much awaited Civic into the Indian market. Priced at Rs 17,69,900 (ex-showroom, Pan India), the 2019 Honda Civic will take on the likes of Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis and Hyundai Elantra in its segment.
Into its 10th Generation, Honda Civic will be making a comeback after an absence of 5 years. The Civic that was known for its unique exterior design builds on that credibility to offer a more aggressive and appealing outlook. Based on the new modular platform, the All-New Honda Civic is said to be lighter, stiffer and safer in comparison to the previous generation. It will be for the first time since its introduction in India that the Civic comes equipped with a diesel powertrain alongside a petrol one. Honda Civic diesel will, therefore, feature a 1.6-litre i-DTEC engine on-board that is capable of producing an overall power output of 120PS with 300Nm of peak torque. Plus there is a six-speed manual gearbox that will help return a mileage of 26.8 kmpl (ARAI certified figure). As for the petrol variant, it comes fitted with the tried and tested 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine that churns out 141PS of maximum power output followed by 174Nm of peak torque. Its claimed fuel efficiency figures stand at 16.5 kmpl (ARAI certified). Unlike the diesel, the petrol model is only being offered with a CVT automatic transmission.
Some of the key cabin features include the mention of a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that offers Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Its all-new dashboard caters to a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a rear parking camera, dual climate control among others. For safety there are six airbags onboard this sedan, ABS with EBD, traction control, lane watch assist and so on.
The new Honda Civic will come in three variants, namely V (petrol only), VX, and ZX. Also, it will have five colour options, namely platinum white pearl, lunar silver metallic, nature steel metallic, radium red metallic, and golden brown metallic.
