‘Opposition parties formed an unethical front with selfish motives to defeat Modi’

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah urged people to vote for the party for the second time for the unity, integrity, safety and better future of the nation.

The BJP, which began its journey with 10 members, has now emerged as the largest party with 11 crore membership. It is in power with full majority in 16 States, has large number of Chief Ministers, MPs, MLAs, ZP and municipal chairpersons, he said while addressing the party cluster meeting of Nizamabad, Zaheerabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar and Medak Parliamentary constituencies here on Wednesday.

Mr. Shah said the Opposition party leaders have formed an unethical front with selfish motives to defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is giving corruption-free and transparent governance.

Mr. Modi made possible more development within 55 months, which the Congress could not do in its 55-year rule, and thus the country has now become the sixth largest economy from its earlier ninth position, he said.

Mr. Shah said the leadership of Narendra Modi leadership is the need of the hour for the nation to give a fitting lesson to Pakistan and effectively deal with terrorists.

Can the Congress-led Mahakutami or any leader in it or Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for that matter, counter terrorism, he questioned.

He said if Mahakutami comes to power, there would be internal bickering and internecine fights within it.

Coming down heavily on TRS rule, he said that the State is in the grip of Mr. Rao and Owaisi families. Mr. Shah wanted to know why the party is hobnobbing with the AIMIM, which he described as Razakars’ party.

Mr. Rao is confident that his party would win 16 Lok Sabha seats, leaving one to MIM, his ally, forgetting the fact that these elections are to elect the Prime Minister and not the Chief Minister, he said.

The BJP president said that Prime Minister Modi is the most popular leader in the world and people believe that the country will be safe only in his hands.

Within 13 days of Pulwama attack, the country could make surgical strike on the terrorists’ dens along the Line of Control in Pakistan, eliminating 350 terrorists -- which was possible thanks to Modi’s vision and determination, Mr. Shah said.

Earlier, party State president K. Laxman and former president G. Kishan Reddy spoke.

MP B. Dattatreya, MLA Raja Singh, former MLC Ramchander Rao, former MLA Y. Laxminarayana, senior leaders Krishna Das, L. Bhoopathi Reddy and party district president Palle Ganga Reddy were among those who were present.
