A taxi boss was gunned down at a Shell garage in Tongaat, KwaZulu-Natal, on Thursday.
"Earlier this evening IPSS Medical Rescue, together with Lenmed Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre paramedics, responded to a shooting at Shell garage in Tongaat," IPSS paramedics spokesperson Paul Herbst said in a statement on Thursday.
It is alleged that the deceased drove into the garage in his BMW where he was ambushed by at least two suspects who were already at the service station.
The gunmen then fired a volley of shots in his direction as the deceased got out of his vehicle.
Upon arrival paramedics found the man lying face down in the forecourt.
"Paramedics assessed him and found that he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds," Herbst said.
"Due to the extent of his injuries he was declared dead at the scene."
