Victory in segments under Bhongir not satisfying: KTR

There is a lesson for the party in low margins of victory in the State Assembly elections, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao said here on Thursday and urged party leaders and cadre to do some critical introspection.

“You bragging about us and we doing the same is not the aim. Let’s be practical — we lost Munugode and Nakrekal constituencies, and secured a combined majority of just above a lakh. Even the best leaders did not secure a 30,000 margin,” Mr. Rama Rao pointed out.

Addressing the party’s ‘warm-up’ meet for Bhongir Lok Sabha seat, which comprises seven Assembly constituencies, he said the December election was not a satisfying victory from here.

There is a need to take analyse the reasons, he said and wondered if there were issues of unity among the cadres and if the party took any flawed decisions. In view of the fast-approaching elections strengthening of booth committees and mobilisation of votes is the immediate priority, he added.

National presence

Referring to ‘surveys’ that show the National Democratic Alliance on a declining graph securing 150-160 seats and the United Progressive Alliance not rising above 110 seats, he said the regional parties would have a major role. “Hoisting the TRS flag on Bhongir Fort or at the Red Fort, will be by sending KCR’s 16 soldiers (16 MPs) to Delhi,” he declared.

“State-of-the-art world’s largest pharma cluster and industries in Ibrahimpatnam, MMTS till Raigiri in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, Rudramadevi reservoir, 100-bedded hospital in Thungathurthy, fluorosis-free Munugode, dry port in Nakrekal, Yadadri temple, and the soon-to-be triveni sangamam (Rivers Godavari, Krishna, Musi confluence) here, are all happening,” he said elaborating on the performance and promises of the party. He urged the party cadres to indulge in ‘less talk and more action’.
