Jessika Power and Daniel Webb officially began their 'affair' on Wednesday's episode of Married At First Sight, sharing a secret kiss at the dinner party.

But Daily Mail Australia can reveal the pair were far from strangers when Dan debuted as an 'intruder' with Tamara Joy earlier this season.

While it seemed as if they had met for the first time at last Wednesday's dinner party, the 35-year-old car sales broker had already 'planned' his romance with Jessika, 26.

A production source has claimed that fellow contestant Ines Basic, 29, actually 'introduced' the pair before Daniel filmed his wedding to Tamara.

'Ines is very close with one of Dan's best friends, who was also one of the groomsmen at his wedding to Tamara,' the insider explained.

'Before Dan married Tamara, Ines had been sending Snapchats of herself and Jessika to the mutual friend while she was bored filming the show in Sydney.

'One night, when Ines was sending selfies to the friend in Queensland, he was sitting with Dan. Petty much instantly, Dan started asking who Jessika was.'

Dan reportedly described Jessika as a 'proper sort', before asking his friend to request 'more photos' of her from Ines.

It was around this time that he also supposedly began following Jessika on Instagram.

'When all this was going on, Dan knew he would be joining the show as an intruder and was just days away from filming his wedding to Tamara,' added the source.

'He basically set his sights on Jessika before even meeting Tamara down the aisle. It's so unfair.'

'It looks like new boy Dan is on the radar for Jess,' relationship expert John Aiken observed at the time.

Within 70 seconds of Dan arriving with Tamara, Jessika said excitedly in a piece to camera: 'Damn, Dan! He is hot... he is a hunk!'

Speaking of her 'marriage' to farmer Mick Gould, Jessika added: 'I have been with Mick for six weeks and I'm not happy. And I'm not someone to lie and just fake it.'

Dan replied that he was equally unhappy in his relationship with Tamara.

He said: 'At the moment with me and Tam, she's a good friend of mine.

'But sometimes I feel a bit like I'm talking to a brick wall. She's not a big listener and it's a tough situation - but you're just straight on the money.'
