Share market update: BSE Capital Goods index up; Graphite India gains nearly 4%

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading higher in Thursday's afternoon session.

Shares of Graphite India (up 3.70 per cent), Lakshmi Machine Works (up 3.37 per cent), Larsen & Toubro (up 2.55 per cent) and ABB India (up 2.17 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Sadbhav Engineering (up 1.70 per cent), Schaeffler India (up 1.58 per cent), HEG (up 1.41 per cent) and Havells India (up 1.38 per cent) too were in the green.

The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading 1.53 per cent up at 17,889.05 around 03:03 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 17.65 points at 11,070.65 while the BSE Sensex was up 130.87 points at 36,766.97.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, PNB, Reliance Communications, DHFL, JP Associates, ONGC, IDFC First Bank, IDBI Bank, SBI, NHPC, GMR Infra, Reliance Capital, Ashok Leyland, YES Bank, Wipro, Motherson Sumi, Tata Motors and CG Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
