BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa left for New Delhi on Thursday to attend a meeting with party central leaders on issues related to selection of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls.
According to sources close to him, Mr. Yeddyurappa is scheduled to meet the central leaders on Friday regarding process related to selection of candidates.
Union Ministers’ visit
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will participate in an interactive programme with farmers in Kolar on Friday. Similarly, BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will interact with farmers in Tumakuru and also visit the Siddaganga Mutt there on Friday.
Union Minister Rajnath Singh will participate in a meeting of leaders of Shakti Kendra (cluster of booth-level committees of BJP) in Mangaluru on Saturday and will also address a meeting of intellectuals later.
Meanwhile, BJP State general secretary and MP for Udupi–Chikkamagaluru Shobha Karandlaje on Thursday released a book on her performance in the constituency. According to the book The Path Towards Growth, the constituency has got Central funds of ₹3,700 crore in the last four-and-a-half years for development works.
