Nagpur: MahaMetro has organized an exhibition on various aspects of Nagpur Metro project at its Airport South Metro station, which is located between airport and Khapri railway overbridge (ROB). The timings are from 9am to 9pm and it will be open till March 13.
The exhibition was inaugurated by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday evening before the flag off of first train of Nagpur Metro.

The agency has installed several television screens that show the innovative designs of its Metro stations. Many of them have unique architecture and will add to the beauty of the city. The Khapri station is designed on the sidelines of Mumbai’s Bandra station, New Airport station is a mix of Indo-Saracenic and Buddhist architectures, etc.

A huge model of central part of the city has been placed on a table. It contains a model of Zero Mile Metro station, heritage walk near it, Sitabuldi interchange station with Crown of Nagpur on its top, traffic and transit management centre (TTMC) commercial complex opposite Yeshwant Stadium, etc. All of these structures will be built by the MahaMetro.

The exhibition also has a model of four tier transport network in Gaddigodam. A road is at the ground level. The next level is occupied by a railway viaduct, a flyover exists on the third level and Metro viaduct is on the top. The three tier transport system on Wardha and Kamptee Roads have also been depicted.

MahaMetro has highlighted its unique features in the exhibition such as using 65% solar power, rainwater harvesting, biodigesters at Metro stations, etc.
