BHOPAL: Prerna Social & Cultural Society organised Inspired India Award ceremony at Ravindra Bhavan on Wednesday. Nearly 18 differently-abled youths who have excelled in fields like sports and art and culture were felicitated.
The youth felicitated include first female Indian amputee to climb Mount Everest, Padma Shri Arunima Sinha; Paralympics swimmer, Sharath Gayakwad; members of We Are One wheelchair group; dancer and basketball player, Javed Chaudhary; body lifter and model, Yogesh Prajapati; visually challenged dancer and MBA topper, Swapnil Patil; visually challenged dancer, singer and Yoga exponent, Chandrayee; Olympian cyclist and volleyball player, Shruti; Special Olympic cyclist, Manigmellai; Floor Hockey player, Kiran; Special Olympic football player, Budhurai; World Summer Games footballer, Vijay; Arm Wrestler, Manish Kumar; Arm Wrestler, Arvind Rajak; Banker, Padmeshwari Bhaga; Sumant Kale, Sonu Golkar and Poonam Shroti.
Besides, an interactive session with first female Indian amputee to climb Mount Everest Padam Arunima Sinha and Indian Paralympics swimmer Sharath Gayakwad was also held.
Cabinet minister for higher education, sports and youth affairs Jeetu Patwari and secretary (culture) Renu Tiwari granced the programme as special guests. Dilip Buildcon chairman Dilip Suryawanshi presided over the event.
Other dignitaries including Commissioner (social justice and disabled persons welfare department) Sandeep Rajak, IG (Bhopal), Jaideep Prasad, television and film actor Darshan Pandya and editor Indian Wrestling Nakul Patodi were present.
