Baby girl found abandoned near cowshed
TNN | Mar 8, 2019, 04:42 ISTCoimbatore: A newborn baby girl was found abandoned near a cowshed at Kavundampalayam here on Thursday morning. Spotted by a worker with a nearby temple, the baby was handed over to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) with the help of the Kavundampalayam police.
CMCH staff said the baby might have been born either on Wednesday night or in the early hours of Thursday. “The baby’s umbilical cord was found to be fresh and intact. The baby weighs 2.5 kg and she is in good health,” said resident medical officer Dr A Soundaravel.
“We will keep the baby under observation and do all the required check-up and tests before handing over her to the adoption centre Sharanalayam,” he said.
