Two cars completely gutted after head-on collision at Chorla Ghat

Two cars were completely gutted in a fire that engulfed the two vehicles after a head-on collision on Chorla Ghat road on Thursday early hours.

According to sources, two Maharashtra-registered cars were heading in opposite direction when they collided against each other and the impact resulted in both the vehicles getting engulfed in fire.

According to PI Shivram Vaingankar, one Audi car was heading towards Goa while the other car-Chevrolet Aveo was proceeding towards Belagavi. Both the vehicles crashed against each other and went off the road into a ravine and then caught fire.

Police said that occupants of both the cars had a narrow escape.  Valpoi fire station said that they received a call at around 5.45 am that two cars near Swapnagandha resort at Chorla caught fire. “We rushed to the site and doused the flames, however, both the vehicles were completely burnt,” the official on duty stated.
