Vadodara: The first ‘gaushala’ in the state to be set up by a trust floated by members of the minority community was inaugurated at Pingalwada near Karjan on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion spiritual leader Morari Bapu stressed on the need for communal harmony in the country.
The cattle pond at Pingalwada has been set up by the Pir Kayamuddin Dada Trust. Gir cows will be reared at the Gaushala.

The trust decided to come up with the facility as promotion of cow rearing has been a tradition amongst the descendants of Matauddin Bava who was fondly called Mota Miyan Bava. The tradition was carried forward by Nizamuddin Bava and then Kayamuddin Bava Pirzada.

Speaking on the occasion Morari Bapu said that if ‘bhajans’ and ‘bandagi’ were in tune, the country would reach its destination. He said that he was glad that verses from the Quran Sharif were recited on the occasion followed by a bhajan by tribal persons.

The spiritual leader added that while the ‘gaushala’ may have made a small beginning today, he prayed that it would become successful. He added that protecting the cow in the state was everyone’s responsibility. In the same breath he added that unity and integrity of the country should be protected. Morari Bapu is the inspiration behind the ‘gaushala’.

President of the trust that started the ‘gaushala’, Kadir Pirzada, said that the inauguration was a historical event. He said that it was for the first time that a trust of a dargah was establishing a ‘gaushala’.
