NELLORE: Affirming that Chandrababu Naidu has no moral right to continue as chief minister after the data theft scandal broke out, YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that Naidu’s story on the issue is a rewind of the cash-for-vote case of 2015.

Jagan alleged that the state residents' data has been harvested by two private companies through the app they have developed for TDP in the name of Seva Mithra to benefit the TDP.

“Naidu started singing the tune of Andhra businessmen being targeted soon after the IT Grid was caught in the scandal. Naidu had conveniently forgot the role of his government and the IT grids in breaching the data which even Supreme Court has objected to,” fumed Jagan.

Jagan addressed a meeting of party’s booth level workers and party sympathisers as part of Samara Sankharavaram here on Tuesday. Jagan said that besides IT Grids, Bluefrogs of Vizag have been engaged in the data harvesting and the personal information of all residents of the state have been procured and stored in the servers of the two companies.

He said that the data is being used for political gains. He said that government leaked the date to private firms with criminal intent. He said that the heads of the two companies are very close the Chandrababu and his son Nara Lokesh and they are hangers-on in the CMO which shows how the government has been working in tandem with private players involving the confidential data of residents of the state, including bank details, Aadhar numbers. He said that this crime needed to be tried under various provisions of the law.

He alleged that the names of those who are not in favour of TDP are being deleted as TDP realised that it might not be possible to win the next elections.

He said that TDP leaders have been levelling baseless allegations against them after they approached the CEC. “When they are caught red-handed and raids take place, Chandrababu Naidu sent AP police to Hyderabad following a WhatsApp message and started playing the same old tune when his name figured in the cash for vote case. He has been using the police as watchmen,” fumed Jagan.

He said that their fight is not only against TDP but also against bogus pollsters, biased media, money power and unethical practices. The leader of opposition has asked the booth level workers to be alert and be in touch with each and every household and ensure that their names are in the voters’ list and see to it that they come and vote.

He had also asked the party cadres to propagate the Navaratnas and tell the people about the socio-economic changes the state would witness after YSRCP coming into power.
