‘YSRCP pulling out all stops to target our voters’

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) submitted a memorandum to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Gopal Krishna Dwivedi urging him to direct the district election authorities and the returning officers concerned to conduct an inquiry into submission/uploading of bulk applications on the CEO portal seeking either deletion or inclusion of voters from the list.

‘Act tough’

The TDP also wanted the CEO to consider such applications in a suspicious manner and not to either include or delete votes basing on such bulk applications without securing the presence of the applicant without following principles of natural justice. The TDP also wanted the CEO to lodge criminal complaints and furnish the details of such persons who indulged in such offences.

The memorandum was signed by party State president Kimidi Kala Venkat Rao and his Cabinet colleagues.

The TDP leaders on Tuesday alleged that the YSR Congress Party was working with the mala fide intention of getting electors aligned with the TDP struck off the rolls. Most of the applications were made through the CEO portal in Form 7. Some of the officials were acting basing on the alleged applications and making proposals to delete the genuine voters. The names of genuine voters were being deleted in bulk in a planned manner, the TDP leaders alleged.
