21L students to benefit from KITE project
TNN | Mar 7, 2019, 04:02 ISTThiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) has issued tenders for procurement of ICT equipment for high-tech labs in primary schools.
The tender is for the purchase of 55,086 laptops, 55,086 USB speakers and 23,170 multimedia projectors. The funds for the purchase would be sourced from the Rs 292 crore the KITE has received from the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Board (KIIFB) fund.
The equipment would be distributed among 9,941 government and aided primary schools in the state. The project will benefit over 20.86 lakh students. The pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for March 12. The last date for submitting the bids is March 30. “The scheme would also have a 5-year warranty for all ICT equipment, along with mechanism for complaint redressal, call centre facility and insurance coverage, similar to the high-tech project in high schools. tnn
