55-year-old man held for sexually harassing minor
TNN | Mar 6, 2019, 07:58 ISTLudhiana: The police on Tuesday arrested a 55-year-old man for sexually harassing his 11-year-old neighbour.
The minor’s mother told the police, “My daughter had been looking upset for the past four months. As her health, too, started deteriorating, I asked her the reason. She broke down and said whenever she went out to play, our neighbour touched her inappropriately.”
The girl, a Class V student, said the accused would also show her indecent pictures and videos. “He had threatened to kill her if she told anybody about his misdeeds,” her mother added.
Investigating officer assistant sub-inspector Janak Raj said, “A case was registered under sections 354 A (sexual harassment), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act on Monday. The accused, who is unemployed, was arrested on Tuesday evening. His medical examination will be conducted at civil hospital.”
