A Cabinet Sub-committee formed on the ‘Panchagramala’ issue involving Simhachalam Devasthanam land has directed the officials concerned to prepare the modalities for regularisation of sites with houses and registered vacant sites at the earliest and send it to the Cabinet for approval.
The panel recommended regularisation of land within 100 square yards for BPL families free of cost while various slabs will apply for the same for other categories, an official statement issued here on Tuesday said.
The panel headed by Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishna Murthy, who also holds the Endowments portfolio, met with Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Transport Minister K. Atchannaidu met at the Secretariat. MLAs from Visakhapatnam district, revenue and endowments officials also participated in the meeting.
In the recent Assembly session, the State government had passed an Act to resolve the long-pending issue.
Eligibility
Those who had registered house or house-site in Adavivaram, Venkatapuram, Vepagutna, Purushottapuram and Cheemalapalli by 2008 are eligible to apply for regularisation.
The panel recommended payment of 7.5 % in the registration value of 1998 for the BPL families in possession of a site between 101 to 200 square yards.
Others in possession of 1 to 200 square yards need to pay 7.5 % of the registration value of 1998 for regularisation, while the same for 201 to 300 square yards is 15 %. A payment of 30 % of the registration value was recommended for those in possession of 301 to 500 square yards, the statement said, adding that for the sites above 500 square yards, people need to participate in auction.
